Title: Under God's own law, shouldn't Jesus have been aborted? Post by: wvit1001 on 05 17, 19, 03:03:45:PM Since Christ hadn't yet died for our sins, Mary and Joseph were still bound to the Old Testament rules. This includes God's instructions for abortion in Numbers 5:11-31: If a woman is suspected of being impregnated by someone other than her husband, a priest should make her drink mud. If she's guilty, she and the baby will die.
Since Joseph suspected he wasn't the real father, shouldn't he have taken her to a priest to perform the mud test? For those who might say Mary got pregnant before she was actually married, things get easier: she should have been taken to her father's doorstep and stoned to death by the men of the city. (Deuteronomy 22:13-21) Title: Re: Under God's own law, shouldn't Jesus have been aborted? He only gets the talking points filled with out of context quotations Democrats see as usable! Matthew-Chapter 1- 19 Her husband Joseph, being an upright man (https://www.catholic.org/encyclopedia/view.php?id=7463) and wanting to spare her disgrace, decided to divorce her informally. <a href="<a href="http:// (http://<a")20 He had made up his mind (https://www.catholic.org/encyclopedia/view.php?id=8001) to do this when suddenly the angel (https://www.catholic.org/encyclopedia/view.php?id=774) of the Lord (https://www.catholic.org/encyclopedia/view.php?id=5217) appeared to him in a dream and said, 'Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary (https://www.catholic.org/bookstore/?category=19) home as your wife, because she has conceived what is in her by the Holy Spirit. <a href="<a href="http:// (http://<a")21 She will (https://www.catholic.org/encyclopedia/view.php?id=12332) give birth to a son and you must name him Jesus, because he is the one who is to save his people from their sins.' <a href="<a href="http:// (http://<a")22 Now all this took place to fulfil what the Lord (https://www.catholic.org/encyclopedia/view.php?id=5217) had spoken through the prophet: <a href="<a href="http:// (http://<a")23 Look! the virgin is with child and will (https://www.catholic.org/encyclopedia/view.php?id=12332) give birth to a son whom they will (https://www.catholic.org/encyclopedia/view.php?id=12332) call Immanuel, a name which means 'God-is-with-us'. <a href="<a href="http:// (http://<a")24 When Joseph (https://www.catholic.org/encyclopedia/view.php?id=6477) woke up he did what the angel (https://www.catholic.org/encyclopedia/view.php?id=774) of the Lord (https://www.catholic.org/encyclopedia/view.php?id=5217) had told him to do: he took his wife to his home; <a href="<a href="http:// (http://<a")25 he had not had intercourse with her when she gave birth to a son; and he named him Jesus. https://www.catholic.org/bible/book.php?id=47 Wvit has only the limited knowledge of an indoctrinated bigot!
