Title: Jim
Post by: justincase on 02 11, 19, 12:18:37:AM
Just curious...has anyone heard from Jim? I notice he hasn't been online since Friday morning, and was just wondering if he mentioned being away for a while.

LOL! Well, not really, but I just hated the thought of you needing help and no one knowing. Glad you're okay.

Spent the weekend staying with my father-in-law who is 89, and is recovering from having almost two feet of colon removed. Something I too had done 19 years ago because of a perforated diverticulitis.  I know (TMI).  Any ways. Its a pretty painful operation and just as painful (and long) recovery, but its amazing how they can remove that much and neither you nor you body don't even miss it because you still have another more than 3 feet left and it heals back together as if nothing happened. And you more than 20 feet of intestines.

Typically, Socialists ONLY like you for what you can GIVE them (until it's gone).

I hope he recovers quickly. That's an advanced age to have that type of surgery.

It's wonderful that you could be with him.  Our prayers and well wishes that he recovers quickly.

Absolutely, happy he is recovering. I agree with justincase, and am glad your FIL is tough.

Nice you could be there for him, Jim.  Glad to see you back.

jim...sorry that your FIL - and you - had to have that kind of surgical procedure.  Procedures and recovery are never much fun...but beats the heck out of the alternative.  Glad you didn't have to experience getting a colostomy bag.

Yeah, those are probably no fun at all.
