Title: Surprise Visitors
Post by: emilyB on 12 22, 18, 11:14:38:PM
Just before I had a tea party this afternoon for some of the Brit ladies, my husband looked out the window and said what the hell are those in the back garden.  We have lived here almost 15 years and never seen anything like it.  There were 6 or more strutting around the garden.  We think they are California Quail but not sure.  What characters they are.  They were consuming the dropped seeds on the ground from the feeders.

Quail are such funny birds.
One of the apartments we lived in years ago had a covey that would sit up on the corner of the entrance and Chase each other across the driveway.

Those are incredible photos.

I tried to put the pic of what we thought was the male on here last night but it wouldn't take. I think it was too large. It was so funny and I laugh every time I look at it.  Maybe hubby can cut it down to an acceptable size.
