Title: Another crappy Windows patch and Flash flaw
Post by: D2D on 12 08, 18, 12:54:40:PM
The latest issue deals with November 2018 cumulative update KB4467682 for Windows 10 version 1803. A number of users recently reported their PCs were crashing and they were seeing the notorious Blue Screen of Death along with the error code "System thread exception not handled."

It looked like the problems were isolated to Microsoft's own Surface Book 2, so they halted the optional update for that specific device earlier this week. After learning it was more widespread, it was pulled completely.
Microsoft released the following statement on the support page (https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/4467682/windows-10-update-kb4467682) for that update: "After installing this optional update some users have reported getting a blue or black screen with error code, 'System thread exception not handled.' As a precaution, we have removed this optional update from Windows Update and Microsoft Update Catalog to protect customers. Fixes and improvements will be available in the December 2018 security update release and will include a resolution for this issue."
But will the December update end Microsoft's year on a high note, or come with a new set of problems? We'll have to wait and see.
