No, I always knew not to give rawhide.  However I've been buying the occasional Nylabone, made in the USA for our dog and I've heard that these can be dangerous too.  So far there's no problems but you really have to watch everything they get into.

The only chews Ozzie gets are the real meat round bones with the marrow.  We buy a 6 pack that are cut into about 1 1/2 slices so he can lick all the marrow out and keep himself occupied while in his outside kennel.  He also gets breath chews, not Greenies though, but the Tropiclean fresh breath+.

I get an assortment of grain free dog biscuits from the bins at the pet store and there are fresh breath ones that I make sure to add.  So many shapes, sizes and flavors.

Nylabones are bad according to vet, they break down into small pieces that are harmful to the dogs intestines, butcher bones are the best. And when they are chewed bare you can fill them with peanut butter and blueberries and freeze them, the dog love them.
