Title: The end is near
Post by: takncarabizniz on 08 26, 17, 04:55:11:PM
Asking all to offer prayers for my mother-in-law as she passes to take her place in Heaven's family circle.

She is on morphine and no longer eating or drinking and this morning, her extremities have become mottled...so it won't be long.

We continue to pray she is not in pain, but she is unable to vocalize at all.

I remember watching my mother-in-law pass. We were really good friends after not being friends for a few years.
In her darkened ICU room her last words to me were "Take care of my baby." Meaning her daughter, my wife. Naturally I said "I will" and wondered why she would even have to ask, she grabbed my arm and pulled me down and said "PROMISE."  She needed to hear that her daughter would be OK without her around. I said "I Promise."

She was only 55. It was back in '87. She had a brain hemorrhage while at work. She was about to go into surgery and she probably knew she wouldn't make it. I'm sure the surgeons didn't give her a favorable prognosis on brain surgery.  She was in horrible pain, speaking made it worse, but her last thoughts were not about herself.

I will say a few prayers for your Mother-in-Law myself.

Thank you.  It is excruciating watch someone waste away and for whatever reason, continue to fight, even though she said she was ready and was not afraid.  I think the stress of the family situation has kept her going, and it's a weird one, with hubby and me trying to negotiate and keep the peace from afar, while we see others trying to take advantage of the situation.

Family dynamics are constantly at odds...
