Title: Shopping Spree
Post by: emilyB on 05 06, 17, 01:05:27:AM
I couldn't believe that for one day the temp here hit 80 degrees and we decided to go shopping.  Macy's had great bargains and there was hardly anyone in the store and the prices were so low that it's a wonder they make a profit when you consider the overheads.  It seemed that there were so many markdowns in every department and then on top of that there was an extra 25% friends and family discount.

I bought a 430 thread Queen size sheet set that was originally $130.00 and ended up at $37.99 and a Queen size light weight blanket that ended up at $22.49 and they were all high quality.  I can't go any higher on the thread because my other half swears they are too thick and must be for the depth of winter and I don't like anything too flimsy, so these seem just about right.

They had racks of clothes in the fashion department that were 75% to 80% off.  I got some cut offs and a couple of tops for a total of $25.00.  I am afraid they are going out of business gradually.  I love to go shopping, have lunch and hunt out the bargains and shopping online doesn't do that for me.

Our Macy's is already closed.  I don't think they spent more than a month in the clearance and shut down.

I need to replace sheets and blankets this year.  I always take all our towels to the animal shelter and sheets and bedding to the rescue mission.

If it's nice tomorrow, I want to start my address post project.  The address plaques should be arriving in the mail by Monday.

I headed to Kmart yesterday and the store was closed...gone....completely.  And my friend went to Macy's and came back with a few bags full of clothes on sale.

I had lunch with 5 Brit lady friends last Tuesday.  It's always a highlight when our daughter visits.  We were discussing all the bargain shopping around.  One had just stopped by Sears first and had bought 3 sweat shirts at $3.99 each.  I bet Sears and Kmart will be the next to go.  The malls have so many empty stores already.
