FDR?   Here i always thought it was from the bounty of the citizens of a grateful nation.  Now you tell me it was FDR.  Where did he get that kind of money?

now, where does a president of a nation his money?

it wasn't easy though, the republicans fought it to the death

it was only $350 per fer crissakes

ONLY $350

Meaning one could ONLY buy a new car, or 16 Robert Hall  suits. Or he could pay his rent for 6 months. Or it would pay for 3 meals a day for 2 months.
Honesty is never Caserios policy.

Didn't FDR put men to work at $0.25 an hour and didn't they have to send some of that to their families. No sit on your butt and get paid for it, that hardass made them work, didn't he? I believe it was called the new deal!

Q: Was the ‘Bonus’ really a bonus?

A: No. It was an insurance policy – payable at death, or 1945, whichever came first. It had been implemented back in 1924.

The term ‘Bonus’ was, in fact, officially rejected by the American Legion: it implied that the veterans had already received adequate compensation.

In 1945, the Bonus, or ‘adjusted service certificate’ would be worth 125 per cent of the value of each veteran’s service credit (based on days served).

But, by 1932, with record unemployment rates and the country facing mass starvation, the veterans were no longer willing to wait that long.

Yes, he is a fool.  Or senile. He was old when FDR interred Japanese-Americans, Italian-Americans and German-Americans residing here.

If cas was born the first year of the great depression, he would be 87 this year. If he was born the last year of the depression, he would be 77 this year. oh and didn't he say he served in WWII? that would mean he would be born closer to the beginning.
