Title: Deja - vu again
Post by: Jim on 08 29, 16, 06:37:03:AM

Yeah, my wife is back in the hospital again. Although this time she lasted 4 months being at home as opposed to just 3 weeks.  And this time its not as bad because we're getting used to recognizing the early symptoms of cellulitis infection besides waiting for the identifiable redness to start.  Of course her legs are always wrapped, so its hard to see the redness that might indicate celulitis when it first begins because when changing her bandages its hard to tell that from just plain ordinary irritation from the bandages.

I suspect she will only be in the hospital for a few days and not required physical rehab again.

I'm just giving a heads up.  Thats all...

So sorry to hear that Jim.  You have a lot to handle but sounds like you have it all down pat now.  My very best wishes to both of you and for a quick recovery for your wife this time around.

Ode to you and she.

"Brings me Home"
'Those pureheads...rocky and bumpy and you made it back - a very personal attachment, it brings me home -
It is a guiding light ~ it guides me right back home. Good photography is about feeling, it automatically has a lot of emotion ...puts me at ease, brings me home. That extraordinary moment, the big storm, the beautiful sunset - isolated and gorgeous. The pure catwalk. These beacons have survived through storms and abuse. Through winds and sands. They still shine bright and draw people in. Where it never gets old. That next best shot, savoring the moment.'
Just like here.

The wife came home today after only 4 days in the hospital. What a Major improvement over 3 weeks hospital and 2-3 weeks physical rehab !

Unfortunately, this time they told her she would be on 500mg Amoxicillin one tab every day for life.

I don't like that one bit and I've voiced my objection. I think its a really bad idea to get her body used to antibiotics like that. Bad bad bad...

I hope doc can give a specific reason for this dosage. And getting a second, even third opinion of this medical advice would seem to be important. Especially because of your own personal instinct! - Trusting your own judgment is as important as any medical advice.

My Dad compromises with doc's orders and instead of taking Bactrim every day as prescribed, he takes it 3 times a week. And it's working. Plus he drinks cranberry juice - he's got a chronic type infection.

A few years ago a member posted on a thread something about having chronic e-coli. I didn't understand that and one day asked my mom who is (was) a retired nurse. She said, 'well you know your father has that'. She explained that sometimes bacteria makes home and it's almost impossible to kill.

This may not be what your wife has but it might be along the same subject line - something chronic that has to be addressed on a continuing basis...

And googling "natural remedies for _______" whatever it is sometimes helps.
