Title: Turning in for the night
Post by: emilyB on 08 17, 16, 02:08:06:AM
We had a long hot drive today through drought ridden fields and lots of signs from protesting farmers regarding the water ban.  Sad to see farm animals trying to exist in these conditions.
So nice to finally be at my daughter's house but a little nervous about the fire not too far away.  It has closed I-15 in both directions and my son-in-law's niece and family and an employee of his live in the area.

That's just awful, Emily.

My best friend and her family just went through a similar scare with a brush fire that came within half a mile of their place.

Stay safe,.be prepared to scurry fast.

So glad you took the 5 and not the 15 Emily which I was sure you wouldn't have been on since it would have been the grapevine not the Cajone you would have been going through. And the winds from what I saw last night blowing away and not to the area you are staying/my old stomping grounds. Speaking of - have land up there! Been sitting vacant almost 30 years north of Wrightwood, West of Baldy Mesa in Phelan. And family land in Apple Valley, vacant since the 80's. But both have homes surrounding!
