I was looking for some facts that I had posted years ago and couldn't find them.  They were on the things the left said and things the right said forums...or whatever they were called.

OK OK OK.  I know I said I don't delete things. And you caught me.   I actually forgot that I deleted those two Boards because they had not been used for 3 or 4 years.  I thought nobody used them. They were kinda silly anyways. They were just taking up space, and I figured nobody would miss them.  And I was essentially correct, because after I deleted them I forgot all about them!   I don't even remember when I deleted them.  This year?  Last Year?  Who knows. But you know what,  I should have asked before I deleted an entire board that people put things on.  Lesson learned.  However, those items "Should" still be on the test server at http://www.aesopsretreat.org (http://www.aesopsretreat.org/)

 

btw:  I never saw this post until Pacifica sent it to me today concerning another problem she was experiencing.

I'd like to see the Politics banished to a board of its own and Current events returned to it's intended use.

Jim says he took down the right and left boards because they were 3 or 4 years old.  But yet he left other boards that are also 3 or 4 years old.  Why is that Jim??

No problem with them being gone, I had just posted some things on those boards for quick access to beat people like hoosier over the head with...I know how they hate facts, LOL

I agree with some of the other posters as well that lesser used boards could probably also be shed.  We use what CE and Daily, TV and Movies,, Pets and a few others...but I rarely go through the whole main page to see what forums are available.

I think keeping the boards trim and fit and less hectic has got to help free up a little time on Jim's end.  He shouldn't need to be here babysitting 24/7.  Nor should he need to worry if boards are taken away due to disuse.  There is little reason to maintain them.

Thank you for getting back to this subject, it seems it took a turn to the weird after some people started responding.

Actually, I banned people for either threatening me (or others) for refusing to stop spamming topics, or for just being an asshole.
(Which is not covered in the Constitution.)

And btw: Free Speech does not include many things, which you will find in the TOS.

Dav, if the 2nd amendment was abused to the extent YOU and YOURS abuse the 1st amendment, there might be merit to your argument,,,however......

Yes, I will pull them from there and make a file for them on my end. I had forgot about the old server. 

In reading some of the comments, I have to wonder, do those people realize this is not a public entity, but a privately held one?

Sheesh...

I believe in free speech as much as the next person, but I realize there are boundaries and yes, Jim sometimes has to deal harshly with those who cross those boundaries.
