Title: new garden
Post by: sunshine on 04 14, 15, 06:04:55:AM
Day one.... I made a base for a future water fountain...there will be a wall built up and you will not see the concrete base of the fountain.

What are you using as your weed barrier?  I love the stamped concrete patio...

If these deluges of rain will stop, we'll be able to get back outside.  I have columbine and coreopsis busting out all over and the flowering cherry tree is fully bloomed out but the rain is just turning the blossoms to mush...I haven't gotten even one photo this year.

I dug out the sod and sprayed what roots were left with roundup and placed some cardboard over to speed up  the root killing...it's raining....I want to be working on it and I can't.

It's going to be a raised garden bed anyway so I plan to leave the cardboard and put dirt on top....by the time any roots get long, it will be composted  away.

It's going to be beautiful, like every project you do.  I like the fact that you have an upper deck looking out over the back.  Hopefully there are no plans for anything to be built behind and you will be nice and private.

That's a nature preserve with a river way back there...will never be built on. We had to pay extra for the lot and it's worth every penny.

That's really great sun.  Our little bungalow - our first home in England was built backing on to a green belt and we loved it.  We didn't even have to pay more because you could see the train running through the countryside and some people didn't like that.  We never minded it and at that time they didn't run through the night anyway.

Being a nature preserve behind the home makes your property even more attractive.

Sun - I thought that you would have built a trellis yourself.  It would turn out better than anything you could buy.

Love that you have the fountain going too.

They have restrictions on types of arbors etc .
I bought this one because it matches my fence.
