I remember when the speed limit was abolished in Montana and Mercedes Benz actually sent test vehicles to run the higher elevations near Bozeman...it was a hoot to hear about but apparently got out of hand.

Being that our water was contaminated with C8 for a number of years, till DuPont got sued and had to cough up a ton of money to build filtering systems for local water systems and/or people's private wells, I can believe it.  DuPont used to dump C8 right into the Ohio River, and from there it filtered down into the local aquifers.

Plus, we got a lot of pollution in the past from the upper reaches of the Ohio, and the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers (that form the Ohio at Pittsburgh's Point).  Since a lot of the steel mills in the 'Burgh have closed, pollution has greatly diminished.

As for Justin Bieber, can we ship his worthless butt back to Canada?

I have been to both Montana and Texas...Montana is one of the most beautiful places on Earth, in my humble opinion.  That big beautiful "Big Sky" is one of the reasons it's called the last, best place.  It's my heart and soul...always will be.

Texas is barren for the most part, with oases of towns and cities...It took us two days to drive from the Northern border of the state, to the southern...and I found little to be enchanting.  I was there for 3 years and we found a few little bright spots...Galveston at sunset, the pecan groves of Roseberg, but...

I think people are failing to look at the list...I found some of the statistics funny, some disturbing, some very realistic.

Takncarabizniz, Two cities that I have been in in Texas that I thought were great. Austin and San Antonio. I don't care for the rest of the state at all, and I have been all over it from north to south and from east to west.
 
Montana is a beautiful state. Every once in a while the wife will make a little noise about moving west to b e closer to our daughter in Reno. When I tell her Montana is as close as we would get, she changes her mind. She's never been there, but I don't think she really wants to leave Michigan and neither do I.

Both Austin and San Antonio would be grouped into those "oases" categories...

Montana is much like Michigan, lots of water, lots of trees, 4 seasons, mountains and prairies...but there is something still wild and free about it...I was born and raised there and yearn to go back...

If you can ever get around to seeing Glacier, Yellowstone and all points in between...I guarantee you will enjoy it.

Actually Lee wasn't all that great as a General and tactician, one would only have to study Gettysburg, Antietam or Chancellorsville to understand just how overrated he was.

Grant was a far better general with a more decisive understanding or how to fight a war and still be prepared for the next event.

Bobby Lee was a wonderful leader and was well loved by those who wore the uniform of the south, but as a general he had some shortcomings.  In the battle of Chancellorsville he lost 21% of his total army.  Antietam and Gettysburg we won't talk about his tactics at these places.

Battles of the Civil War has been an interest of mine for many years.
