When that happens I just shut down my browser ( I too have IE10), not the computer. After a few seconds I restart my browser, and everything is OK. Unless this web site is shut down for some reason, then you'll get a message that says unable to connect. I just remembered, may not be the case, but I have seen it happen. If the thread you are in gets deleted while you are posting in it, it will lock you up. Do the same thing, just shut down your browser, then restart it...
