Title: to Christians on immigrants
Post by: PreacherJackie on 10 03, 13, 12:52:26:PM
A note to you:

"When an alien resides with you in your land, you shall not oppress the alien. The alien who resides with you shall be to you as the citizens among you; you shall love the alien as yourself, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt."

King James version:

"And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him.

But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God."

Leviticus 19 33-34

Sorry, that Bible quote doesn't work.

They were talking of travelers. Or small groups travelling through.  NOT hoards of intruders taking advantage of the system, breaking your laws,  and expecting entitlements paid for by you.

Travelers are one thing; illegal squatters are another.

Sorry, Jim, your translation doesn't work. The verse clearly refers to foreigners living among us; and the same would apply to travelers.

" When an alien resides with you in your land,"....as Christians  we are commanded to treat them all as members of our own family and our own nation.

Assuming that they are "intruders" is in direct contradiction to Scripture.

There are just laws that need to be obeyed, including immigration laws.
