This old lilac...

The bush is at least 75 years old...and it's still producing.   It was in pretty rough shape, with only a few blooms actually making it, when it was uncovered in 2014 and now, it's back to giving us tons of gorgeous blooms.
I have made 6 additional plants by rooting from this heritage bush.  I am running out of room to plant, LOL  I need a tractor so I can clear land more quickly to plant more beautiful lilacs!

We have one large lilac bush that was large when we bought our house three decades ago. 

Just finished trimming and removing dead stems.

Very fragrant.

My mother prized her lilacs almost as much as her children, LOL.  Nearly every family photo was taken in front of the bushes.  I managed to propagate some rootings from her original shrubs before the house was torn down, and planted them in one of my gardens...that was a lifetime ago and of course, I didn't take any with me when I left.  Lilac is one of the easiest to propagate from rootings, and I will be pulling out more suckers to start additional plants again this year.
