Hide in fridge until they are gone. the scent hit them as they come in. turn on all lights and open window coverings.

Title: Re: I need luck, prayers, fingers crossed, four leaf clover, etc Post by: nannat6 on 01 22, 11, 10:39:42:AM I have a chocolate wickless candle that melts and smells like fudge.......I light that in the kitchen and light a candle in the bathroom and den and leave a scented unlit candle in the upstairs bath (strong enough that you don't have to light).....I run a damp mop over the floors with a lemon floor cleaner about 30mins or so before they are to come and spray freebreeze as I am going out the door.......I have all the bases covered as to how to show a house, the problem is a lousy economy right now.....when we bought this house, it was on the market 2 wks and two offers were on the table the same day but we won it.....We are even paying all closing costs on this one and one we will eventually buy if we get either or both closed before May (part of relocation package for us)......cutting it close right now....We even have a beautiful pool hall size pool table that we can leave.......so all the options aren't doing much good with the economy..........
Mud, if I were of that religion, I would bury whomever I needed to at this point.......LOL Don't think I will hear anything very soon from those coming today...they are relocating and their realtor said she had a lot of houses to show and could not give me any better than a 1 and half timeframe of being here.....usually they give you within an hour.....The one that came last Sun was also relocating so it could be weeks or even months before either actually are making the moves........but atleast it has picked up again.....I hate sitting and on one coming to see it....... Nana...don't over do it with the smells and such...some people know that other people do that and think you are covering up something. Best thing is to have it spotless and uncluttered and take down the family photos so they see the house and not spend time looking at your family. My house in PA had 40 families go through. Then I unpersonalized it, patched the nail holes and voila.....a week later there was a bidding war and we got $900.00 more than we asked for. Our friend is a broker and had 3 of 4 of sales fall through because the buyers didn't qualify.

If we had the full down payment, I have at least 2 places that I would buy tomorrow. But, until we can sell this one, we're stuck. I've been working hard on going through all our stuff, separating and purging and the next course of action will be to rent a storage unit and start clearing out so the house will be sale ready in the summer. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. Sounds like you have all the ducks in a row and are ready...just gotta have a spark... Good luck. Title: Re: I need luck, prayers, fingers crossed, four leaf clover, etc Post by: nannat6 on 01 23, 11, 11:05:23:AM Sunshine, this is the 5th house we have sold so I have learned all the tricks, etc.........no, I make sure I do not put out alot of different smelling candles......I know that smell can overpower people......mainly, mine have a clean smell......I have only one large picture of grandbabies in view in all of the house...I took down the rest (and there were a lot...LOL) and have them hidden behind all kinds of furniture in the house.......I even put my bathroom wastebasket, scales, etc in the hamper just before the showing so as not have much out even in the bathrooms....It is definately a rough time right now with the economy .....seems we ONLY get job offers when the economy is bad....last house took 8 mos because the main company in town had closed.....one place took 2 yrs because it was out in the country and most don't want to live out now days....and besides my hubby's secretary was living there after her divorce and she had repainted my beautiful kitchen and living room that I had so painstakingly redone by myself.......hubby did not tell me she wanted to do this......I wanted to kill both of them......I had stripped 5 coats of paint off the cabinets, replace wallpaper, etc and she had repainted the cabinets and painted the wall avocado green and dipped feathers in white paint and made feather imprints on the walls........I was furious when we closed on the house and the people invited us over to see what they had already done (we had let them move in early).....That was the first time I had known about it.......no wonder we sold it for $20,000 less than we paid for it.........That will never happen again, that is for sure........

I love the lavendar and vanilla scent. Any time we have company coming, I pop new ones in the wall plug and the whole house has a fresh scent.
